Our exclusive foundation dog obedience training program is designed to prevent most problem behaviors. Formal training can begin at 16 weeks (4mo) of age - we can help you with manners at any age. All sessions are individual and private at our location or yours. You will learn how to understand and effectively communicate your individual expectations to your dog by developing a bonded relationship based on mutual respect and trust. Your dog will learn how to make good decisions based on your expectations - a quality / ability that will last for your dog's lifetime!

Behavioral wellness takes a proactive approach to your dog's behavior, preventing most common problem behaviors. Formal dog obedience training should begin around 16 weeks of age for best results, however we can start your dog at any age. We are available for virtual / phone / home consults for dogs younger than 4mo. of age.
Our foundation training program is based on behavioral wellness principles . You won't be bribing your dog with treats or forcing them to comply with a shock collar, which are the methods of most local trainers. You will be building a partnership with your best friend, learning each other's language and turning your expectations into your dog's own idea. It is always easier to train your dog to your expectations using our leadership principles than it is to deal with / correct common behavioral issues.

Just what is Foundation Leadership Training and why does it result in better behavior?
Everything must begin with a good foundation, much like your home. Ours is a behavioral wellness program based on leadership, effective communication and mutual trust / respect. It is specifically designed to teach dogs to reason and make good decisions for their entire lives!
The majority of trainers use treats to train, which teaches your dog to do "tricks" or learned behaviors - it does little to teach your dog to make good choices. There is also a national chain with local franchises that trains with shock collars. Using treats to train can teach your dog to manipulate you - using a shock collar (especially on an untrained puppy / dog) can teach your dog to fear you. Far too many of our behavioral consults have been for unwanted behaviors resulting from these types of training. Behavioral dog training is the solution to your problems!
EVERY exercise in our K9 training program has a very specific lifetime purpose that both dog and human will carry with them as they journey through life together. It was designed to promote a strong human~animal bond of mutual respect and trust. Most of us would bend over backwards for someone we trust & respect - and so it is with dogs!
So what will you and your dog learn?
Foundation Leadership & Behavioral Wellness
Your dog can learn to sit to be leashed / unleashed, walk by your side on a loose lead, sit / wait when entering / exiting exterior doors, sit / down on the first command and stay / come with mild / moderate distractions. You will learn good leadership skills, good timing, how to gain your dog's trust / respect and how to effectively understand / communicate your expectations to your dog. Common problem behaviors such as pulling on leash, jumping on people / things, mouthing of hands / leash are also addressed. If you are serious about having a well-behaved dog, our foundation dog training program is the perfect solution!
Behavior Modification for Common Behavioral Problems
Is your dog fearful, anxious or aggressive? Does your dog pull on leash, jump on you, counter surf?
All behavioral issues have a root cause that must be determined before attempting to resolve the issue. In most cases, behavioral issues are the result of a misunderstanding / miscommunication between dog and human and can actually be resolved utilizing our foundation K9 training leadership principles. For a sudden onset of a misbehavior, your dog may have a medical issue that must be ruled out by your veterinarian before we can approach the problem behaviorally. In our initial email contact, we will ask specific questions to help us determine the proper route of treatment. Our behavioral dog training is the answer to your dog's issues.
